Mariel Spark is meant to be the best witch of her generation, and yet manages to explode poultry in her kitchen when attempting simple spells. Mariel is anything but the witch she was meant to be in the eyes of her family but when she accidentally summons a demon into her kitchen, things take a turn she never expected.
I adored this book! And yes it was troped to high heavens but I didn't care. The characters were moreish and the dynamic between the two main protagonists was electric. I really liked dual pov writing style as it let us into both sides of the story, which I think was important to understanding Oz. And boy did we need to understand Oz... he's book boyfriend gold! This book has a level of spice to it and this works because Oz is written perfectly. Yes, while technically a demon, Oz is everything you would want in a leading man.
Why is it only 4 stars then? If I'm honest it was the last few chapters... it felt a little rushed. The idea was great but if we can have a whole chapter on one spicy interaction (not complaining) then I felt we could have used a little longer on the climax (pun intended).
Overall, I loved A Witch's Guide to Fake Dating a Demon and I'm really excited to pick up the next book in the series. Have you read this yet? What are your thoughts on Glimmer Fall's resident demon/witch duo?
Happy Reading
