Here Lies A Vengeful Bitch by Codie Crowley

Annie Lane… well that’s someone you don’t want to get on the wrong side of… Dead or alive! Regina George meets Wednesday Adams in a red lipstick and I’m here for it!

I think we’re under the notion that like ability makes an endearing protagonist. But Annie Lane is a right cow, and I loved it! She was a product of her environment and in the end just needed to know her own truth. Her relationship with her best friend was her saving grace. But when that goes, and the tether to what is good starts to fray can you blame a girl for wanting to scare the living shit out of people? I mean, if you could, are you honestly saying you wouldn’t want to demon out on your enemies?

I will say it took me a bit of time to get into the swing of the language and knowing as a reading our protagonist is dead when she doesn’t…

frustrating! However, once past that, this book was fast paced, all consuming and down right haunting (pun intended).

Overall, I really enjoyed this book and the rawness of the characters. There were layers to the story and each one pulled me in deeper and I didn’t want the book to end. I feel a lot of left unsaid and I’m curious to know more.

Happy Reading
