It’s been a long time since I stayed up this late in order to finish a book and boy was it worth it! It’s a tale of fighting for your right to anonymity in a world that choses your rights for you. It’s a story of society and survival. And it’s unputdownable!
The human races desperation to survive, even if it means destroying what makes us human… this never fails to make a good narrative. It has a certain handmaids tale vibe but it’s so much more, and it is written with more old worldly charm. Gilead meets Bridgeton and I’m here for it!
The pacing of The Virtue Season was really interesting, I assumed the season ended in one place but it kept going, unravelling and revealing more layers to this twisted dystopian. The characters were uniquely flawed and compelling and the narrative kept me on my toes. Everything you want from the dystopian!
Overall, this was a brilliant read that had me reading way past my bedtime. If you have the chance and love a well written dystopian fiction then pick up this book and read into the early hours of the morning like I did!
Happy Reading
